Champions League T20 – 2010 Winner Chennai Super Kings

IPL 2010 champions Chennai Super Kings defeated Warriors by 8 wickets to become the Champions of Champions League T20 – 2010.

Warriors won the toss and chose to bat. They were in a good position by scoring 44/1 in 5.3 overs with the inform Jacobs scoring 34 or 21 balls. But, spinners put breaks on the scoring rate of Warriors. The turning point of Warriors innings was the wicket of Jacobs. The reverse sweep from Jacobs against Ashwin cost him his wicket. After that, its Super Kings spinner all over. M Muralitharan’s 16/3 (in 4 overs) and Ashwin’s 16/2 (in 4 overs) helped the Super Kings to restrict the Warriors for 128/2 in their 20 overs.

In reply, Chennai started cautiously, by scoring singles and doubles, not taking any risks. At end, they finished the game by scoring 132/2 in 19 overs.

Champions League T20 – 2010 Finals : Its Super Kings Vs Warriors

Chennai Super Kings will take on the Warriors in the Champions League T20, today, 26th 2010 in New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg

Davy Jacobs of Warriors made 61, off 41 balls which helped Warriors to score 175/6 in their 20 overs. In reply, South Australia managed to score only 145 for 7 in their 20 overs.

It will be an exciting final to watch between the Super Kings and Warriors.

Chennai Super Kings in Champions League T20 – 2010 Finals

Suresh Raina of Chennai Super Kings guided Chennai into the Finals of Champions League T20.

Raina scored 94 (not out) of just 48 balls in a rain interrupted match. Raina’s knock helped Chennai to score 174/4 in their stipulated 17 overs.

Changing 176 (well, Chennai made 174, and 1 run was added to them by Duckworth–Lewis method ), Bangalore made only 123/10 in 16.2 overs.

Chennai will take on the winner of the second semi final between South Australia and Warriors

Champions League T20-2010 : First Semi-Final : Royal Challengers Bangalore Vs Chennai Super Kings

Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on the IPL T20-2010 champions Chennai Super Kings in the first semi-final of the Champions League T20-2010

Both team already met semi-final of IPL season 2, 2009, held in South Africa. Bangalore emerged as the winner that match but lost to Hyderabad Deccan Chargers in the final.

Now, can Bangalore repeat the same magic again or Chennai will take the revenge now?

Well, this time Chennai is favorite with their strong batting and bowling. They have won 3 out of their 4 matches, the loss was in the super over. Where as, it will be very difficult for Bangalore to repeat the magic as Chennai is in good form.

India Clean Sweeps T20 Againest Zimbabwe

Suresh Raina and boys taken sweet revenge on Zimbabwe by clean sweeping the two T20 matches.

In the first match held on 12th June 2010 in Harare, Indian bowlers restricted the Zimbabwe batsman for 111/9 in 20 overs. Only 3 batsman could score double digit. In reply, India started badly by losing Vijay and Ojha in first 3 overs when the score was only 12. Later India’s posting became worst when Rain and Rohit Sharma were out in quick succession. Virat Kohili (26 not out) and Yusuf Pathan (37 not out) played carefully so that India will not lose any more wickets. Both chased the score in 15 overs there by registering their first win in the tour.

In the second match held on 13th June 2010, put into batting by India, Zimbabwe manged to score 140/5 thanks to Taibu who top scored with 45. Chasing 141, India lost their fist wicket in the form of Ojha at 32 in the 4th over. Vijay and Raina played all kinds of shots and took the match away from Zimbabwe. Two wickets at the end of the match did’t stopped India from chasing the moderate score.

Suresh Raina awarded the Player of The Match and Player of the Series.

India’s consecutive win, after a poor performance in the ODI tri-series, will boost the confidence of the youngsters ahead of the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka which will start from 15h June 2010.
